Here you can walk in the path of a volcano and sleep cocooned in an antique railway carriage as your dreams connect you with the essence of this timeless land.

In short, Undara needs to be experienced! Our Undara Experience delivers the essence of the Australian Outback. From the natural landscape of rolling savannah plains and ancient lava tubes, to the warmth and hospitality of your hosts and the variety of flora and fauna. Your day begins with bird song and ends with a golden sunset. In between, there’s a wealth of things for you to see and do, catering to people of all ages and abilities.

Save yourself the 5 hour drive and get the most out of your weekend away, enjoying an unrivalled travel experience as we head inland from the NQ coast in your very own private helicopter. After a stunning scenic flight you will arrive at the Undara Experience where the team will look after your every need.

Option 1: Overnight Getaway

Day 1: Take off from Townsville in your private helicopter, enjoying an hour long scenic flight across North Queensland before landing directly at the Undara resort. On arrival, settle into shady bush surrounds with abundant wildlife. Rejuvenate in the peace and quiet, enjoy a refreshing dip in the resort pool or take one of the many bush walking trails before joining your Savannah Guide for a magnificent Wildlife at Sunset tour (2 hours), followed by an evening campfire activity. Stay overnight in our award winning, restored railway carriage accommodation. Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 2: Awaken your tastebuds with Bush Breakfast at the Ringers Camp to the accompaniment of the morning bird chorus. Join your Savannah Guide for an Archway Explorer tour (2 hours), where they will share their extensive knowledge of this fascinating area. After lunch, you will jump back in the helicopter for your return flight to Townsville.

Option 2: Three Day Undara experience

Day 1: Take off from Townsville in your private helicopter, enjoying an hour long scenic flight across North Queensland before landing directly at the Undara resort. On arrival, settle into shady bush surrounds with abundant wildlife. Rejuvenate in the peace and quiet, enjoy a refreshing dip in the resort pool or take one of the many bush walking trails. Free evening campfire activity conducted by a Savannah Guide, programme changes nightly. Stay overnight in our restored railway carriage accommodation. Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 2: Meet your Savannah Guide for a fascinating Archway Explorer tour (2 hours), later followed by an evening Wildlife at Sunset tour (2 hours). Enjoy the evening campfire activity and stay overnight. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 3: Day of leisure, perhaps take time to explorer the local area on one of the many self guided walks or perhaps take a walk to the One Hundred Mile Wetland to view the array of birdlife. After lunch, you will jump back in the helicopter for your return flight to Townsville.

Option 3: Three Day Undara Experience + Cobbold Gorge

Day 1: Take off from Townsville in your private helicopter, enjoying an hour long scenic flight across North Queensland before landing directly at the Undara resort. Here you will be met by a guide to transfer you to Undara Experience. On arrival, settle into shady bush surrounds with abundant wildlife. Rejuvenate in the peace and quiet, enjoy a refreshing dip in the resort pool or take one of the many bush walking trails. Free evening campfire activity conducted by a Savannah Guide, programme changes nightly. Stay overnight in our restored railway carriage accommodation. Lunch and Dinner included.

Day 3 (Cobbold Gorge tour): After breakfast, you will be flown to Cobbold Gorge for a 3 hour tour (including 1 ½ hour guided walk including Australia’s first fully glass bridge, and 45 minute boat cruise through the gorge). Lunch at the Village café is included. After lunch, you will jump back in the helicopter for your return flight to Townsville.
