Type Endorsements
Townsville Helicopters provides a variety of helicopter type ratings and endorsements. The training is conducted at any time throughout the year to suit your schedule.
Lets assume you are already the holder of an Australian Helicopter licence and have conducted your training in a piston-engine helicopter.
What training do I need to fly a different type of piston-engine helicopter, other than the one I trained in?
You must complete a minimum of 3 hours of flight training with a qualified instructor before you can conduct operations as pilot-in-command of that type of helicopter.
I have been flying piston-engine helicopters and now I wish to fly a turbine-powered helicopter. What training do I need?
If this is your initial turbine endorsement, you must complete a minimum of 5 hours of flight training with a qualified instructor before you can conduct operations as pilot-in-command of that type of helicopter
I am endorsed on a few pston-engine helicopters and a turbine helicopter. I now wish to fly a different type of turbine=powered helicopter. What training do I require?
Now that you have already been endorsed on a turbine helicopter, You are only required to complete a minimum of 3 hours of flight training with a qualified instructor before you can conduct operations as pilot-in-command of that type of helicopter.
